The Power of Nurses to Transform Health
Celebrating National Nursing Week in the Yukon
The Yukon Nurses Alliance (YNA) is proud to join the Canadian Nurses Association in celebrating National Nursing Week. This year’s theme, “The Power of Nurses to Transform Health,” resonates deeply. This theme highlights the profound impact Yukon nurses have in shaping our healthcare landscape, driving innovation, and advocating for patient-centred care in every community. We are currently witnessing a transformative era for nursing in the Yukon. The formation of a new nursing advocacy organization, the changing landscape of Yukon health systems, expansion of Nurse Practitioner service delivery and the rise of innovating nurse-led initiatives, such as Interconnect Health and Wellness, the Whitehorse Travel Clinic and the Youth Outreach Clinic, are prime examples of how Yukon nurses are not just participants in healthcare, but the architects of its future.
This week, we extend our deepest gratitude to our Licensed Practical Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, and Nursing Students. Your expertise saves lives, your advocacy and innovation change systems, and your commitment to evidence-based practice forms the foundation of the Yukon health system. We celebrate your dedication this week, and we value your vital contributions every single day.
